What type of designer is Tony?Tony is a product designer. What are 3 tips Tony gives you?The first tip that Tony gives us is to look broader. For example, when tackling a problem, there might be other things that cause that problem, or maybe there are other effects of that problem. Here, Tony urges us to look at more than what is in front of us. We should use our critical thinking skills to infer what isn't obvious. The second tip that Tony gives us is too look closer. By that he means we should keep an eye out for every small detail. As designers every small detail can affect the user experience and the first step to a successful design operation is to figure out where you went wrong and be able to rework it in a way which is well received. The last tip that Tony gives us is to think younger. He says that younger kids have limited exposure to the world so they aren't used to the world the way adults are. He says they try to solve problems when they face them because for them this isn't the norm. So Tony says that we should have a young mind and think beyond the norm. We should think about how we can make things better than they are. Do you see the details? What can you do to help yourself become more detail oriented?I think over quarantine I have developed more awareness and better attention to detail. This is partly due to the fact that over the quarantine I launched a tech startup, and was involved in the development and now the marketing and business side of the product. When we were designing and developing the user interface every small little detail mattered, and that trait has carried over to other aspects of my life. I am able to detect marketing schemes when I see them, and I pay attention to things like logo changes, or cosmetic changes to apps which I would have previously ignored.
